Faroe Islands
Summer ‘19
Those little islands in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean were for a very long time on my bucket list. Fortunately this year I was able to visit them during the summer solstice and witness them in so-called good weather. All shots from either iPhone or Olympus XA1 on Kodak Colorplus 200.
The combination of endless polar days and surroundings is so breathtaking that it’s hard to try to describe with words. It all together leads to a feeling of insignificance in comparison to the beauty of nature. It was a very soothing experience, us hiking in silence, sheep, and grassy cliffs.
Kallur Lighthouse.
Barbra the sheep and approx. 500m high cliffs.
Trælanípa, slave cliff near Sørvágsvatn lake.
Tjørnuvík, a place where I touched the ocean for the first time.
in the background, two trolls trying to steal Faroes back to Iceland - turned into stone at dawn.
Clouds are your friends.
Karol and magnificent assrock formation near Tjørnuvík.
Fossá waterfall.
Me - tired and happy.
Every meal you eat in Faroes is the best one you have ever had - no matter if it fish & chips on a parking lot, sandwich from your backpack next to a waterfall or a cake in a lovely village.
Here the whole crew - Gosia, Ola and Karol.
She is in love, he is not impressed.
