C(ruel)ool Summer

In the midst of summer, I planned a fabulous long weekend in Berlin. Not too long ago, randomly my good friend Ola and I reunited & it felt so good. She had moved to the capital of Germany amidst all the chaos happening in Poland, so we had multiple opportunities to reconnect already.

We decided to kick off my stay with a concert - a blast from our shared past, Coco Rosie. For reasons not worth explaining, I ended up going alone to one of my favorite venues, Betonhalle in Silent Green Kulturquartier.

So the whole weekend started with a banger, alone in a big city I felt like a smalltown boy. The concert was great, oh my… it was a true delight to listen to some tunes from my high school days, live! My whole summer just gained a leitmotif of reconnecting with my long-gone past, so perhaps embarking on this meta journey alone was even better.

That night, I also met Sandra, another guest in Schulzestraße. She is an amazing woman & fantastic companion. Little did I know how much fun awaited me in the following days.

We enjoyed good food and drinks, engaged in nonstop conversations, wandered a lot & danced - oh, we danced! We went to the legendary Love Parade (nowadays rebranded to Rave the Planet). We visited some iconic places like Julius and discovered new ones.

In summary, it was everything you would expect from a couple of days in Berlin, all in brilliant company!

Love Parade was a fascinating experience.

On one hand, the energy of the crowd was ecstatic. On the other hand, the music was terrible - this kind of techno was never my kind of jam.
